Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
The Workplace Rights Bureau of the Illinois Attorney General’s Office is seeking attorneys to investigate and litigate complex affirmative matters that protect and advance workers’ rights in Illinois. A strong candidate will have a demonstrated interest in litigation and trial work; sound judgment and excellent research and writing skills; and a demonstrated commitment to public service.
The mission of the Workplace Rights Bureau is to protect the rights of Illinois workers through strategic and impact litigation. The Bureau carries out its affirmative work by building investigations using its subpoena power and litigating cases to end unlawful practices in the workplace and to obtain meaningful relief for Illinois workers. The Bureau often collaborates with multistate coalitions on national initiatives to protect workers nationally. The Bureau also monitors and proposes legislation concerning labor and employment issues.
Qualifications:
Candidates must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois at the time of application. Candidates must demonstrate excellent research and writing skills as well as a strong commitment to public service. Preferred candidates will have at least one year of litigation experience and foreign language skills.
Salary: Salaries are commensurate with number of years of practice as a licensed attorney and range from $ 82,000 to $ 107,550.
